Of course we are.  See.Saw.Seen is founded by an optometrist with more than fifteen years of optical expertise in the United States and abroad.  Our frames are hand-picked with meticulous quality control. Our lenses are customized in a certified optical laboratory.  Our optical staff members verify your prescription and your eyeglasses are fully customized to your specific needs.

 

HOW CAN YOU OFFER SUCH LOW PRICES?

We source the best frames wholesale and sell them at reasonable prices.   Just like your favorite boutique stores, we don’t have to deal with the middle men of the major brands and optical chains. Our goal is to provide the best eyewear at the most affordable price to everyone.

 

DO YOU HAVE A STORE THAT I CAN VISIT?

Yes, we opened our first flagship store in Hayes Valley, San Francisco.  Our address is 515 Gough Street, San Francisco, CA 94012.  Please visit us to find your next pair of glasses.  

  

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

Yes, we accept VSP (Vision Service Plan).  We are happy to submit Out-Of-Network claim should you have any other vision insurance. We will gladly provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company as well.  Note that prescription glasses and sunglasses are considered medical devices that are usually covered under most flexible spending (FSA) accounts.

ABOUT PRESCRIPTION:

DO I NEED TO GET A PRESCRIPTION FOR GLASSES?

You need a valid prescription only if you plan to get prescriptive glasses and sunglasses. That means you do not need a prescription for plano (non-prescriptive) glasses and sunglasses. The prescription must be current, which is usually two years within the date of your most recent eye exam. Consult your optometrist if you don't have a valid prescription.  If you're in San Francisco, you can schedule with us for a comprehensive eye exam.

 

HOW DO I GET MY PRESCRIPTION TO YOU?

You can provide us your prescription by:

  1. Filling out the order form at Check Out
  2. Emailing or faxing a copy to us (info@seesawseeneyewear.com / 1-415-795-4700)

Upon receiving your order, we are required legally to verify your prescription with your eye care practitioner if your prescription eyeglasses are shipped to the states of AK, AL, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, KY, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, RI, SC, TN, VT, and WA.

 

I'M NOT SO SURE HOW TO ENTER MY PRESCRIPTION - CAN I EMAIL OR FAX IT TO YOU?

Of course you can. Email us info@seesawseeneyewear.com or fax to 1-415-795-4700. Please make sure to include your order number, which can be found in the order confirmation email sent to you.

   

I CAN'T READ MY PRESCRIPTION! CAN YOU FIGURE OUT THE HANDWRITING?

Don't worry. Just email or fax us a copy and we will contact your optometrist's office to verify the prescription.

 

DOES MY CONTACT LENS PRESCRIPTION WORK FOR GLASSES, TOO?

No. Contact lenses prescriptions can be very different from your eyeglasses prescription. Because contact lenses are placed much closer to your eye than eyeglasses, the powers you need are different. Make sure you enter the prescription for your eyeglasses and NOT for contact lenses.

 

IS THERE A MAXIMUM PRESCRIPTION STRENGTH?

No, we work with an optical lab to customize your lenses. If you have a prescription that is more complicated, such as high astigmatism or requiring prism, we can still make the lenses for you with an extra charge. Please contact us for more information.

 

CAN I ORDER FRAMES WITHOUT PRESCRIPTION LENSES?

Absolutely. You can order frames with plano (non-prescription) plastic lenses. 

WHAT IS PD AND HOW DO I MEASURE IT?

PD stands for pupillary distance, which is the distance between your pupils. It is important to make sure your lenses are well-centered for your eyes to prevent unnecessary eyestrain. This is necessary only if you get prescription glasses or sunglasses. To measure your PD, consult your optometrist as they have special instrumentation to get an accurate reading.


ABOUT SHIPPING

HOW DO YOU SHIP?

We provide free shipping via USPS or Fedex to any of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii will incur a $15 additional charge.

 

CAN I ORDER FROM OUTSIDE THE U.S.? WILL YOU SHIP TO OTHER COUNTRIES?

Yes. There will be additional shipping charge depending where we’re shipping your eyeglasses.

 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

It will take about two to three weeks from the date of your order to receive your glasses. We will verify your prescription with your eye care practitioner, fulfill it at an optical lab, and complete a full inspection of your eyeglasses before shipping them out to you.

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS?

We accept all major credit cards (VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, DISCOVER) and PayPal.

 

DO I HAVE TO PAY SALES TAX?

Sales tax is added to your frames only order in accordance with individual state and local regulations. Other states may require you to declare your purchase and pay appropriate sales tax amounts directly to them. Remember, we don’t charge sales tax, we just collect it.

IS MY PAYMENT SECURED?

Yes, your payment is 100% secured. We respect your privacy, so every single transaction is verified by MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and PayPal.Our payment page complies with the PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) and your information is protected with an SSL encryption. MY GLASSES ARE NOT FITTING PROPERLY, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Come to our store at 515 Gough St, San Francisco, we will adjust the glasses for you.  Also, consult your local optometrist or optician to have your frames adjusted. 

 


ABOUT SEE.SAW.SEEN LENSES:

DO YOU OFFER BIFOCAL OR PROGRESSIVE LENSES?

Yes. Bifocal and progressive lenses require special measurements.  Pupillary distance and seg height are required.  We recommend using our Home Try-On to get the measurement and have the measurement done at your local optometry office

 

WHAT ARE THE LENSES MADE OF?

We offer Zeiss brand plastic lenses for all your prescription glasses.  You will also get the scratch resistant coating, anti-reflective coating, and UV protection, all for FREE. If your prescription is higher than -4.00D, we recommend you getting the Hi-Index 1.67 lenses, which are thinner lenses that also come with FREE scratch resistant coating, anti-reflective coating, and UV protection. Ultra Hi-Index 1.74 lenses are recommended for those of you that have a prescription stronger than -6.00D.

FOR KIDS, WHAT LENESE DO YOU RECOMMEND?

We strongly recommend polycarbonate lenses for children. Polycarbonate lenses are impact resistant, making it much safer for your children. Your child will get the scratch resistant coating, anti-reflective coating, and UV protection, all for FREE.

 


ABOUT RETURNS & EXCHANGES

ARE MY GLASSES GUARANTEED?

In event of any manufacturers defect to your frames or lenses, we will exchange any frames or lenses for free within thirty (30) days.

 

IF I DON'T LIKE THE GLASSES WHEN I RECEIVE THEM, CAN I RETURN OR EXCHANGE THEM?

If you are unsatisfied with your frames you are entitled to an exchange within fourteen (14) days. Please note that for any frame exchanges , you are limited to exchanging a maximum of one (1) frame per customer per month.

Prescription glasses are non-refundable as the lenses are custom made for you. However, we will allow one free additional redo of lenses if the Rx is different.  

We will redo your glasses due to an incorrect prescription or pupillary distance submitted by you or your eyecare practitioner.

Any redo or exchange is subject to shipping fees.  Customer is responsible to send the glasses back to us.

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase and will work with you if you have any concerns with your order. Please contact us at info@seesawseeneyewear.com to obtain an exchange authorization.

CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?

We want to ensure that you'll be satisfied with our products. For this reason, we offer a twenty four (24) hour cancellation policy. You have to cancel your order by contacting us via email (info@seesawseeneyewear.com) or via phone (415-603-2020) within twenty four (24) hours of placing your order. Cancellation is subject to a restocking fee of $60 for plastic lenses, $150 for thin lenses, and $180 for ultra thin lenses.

 

MY GLASSES ARRIVED DAMAGED. HOW DO I RETURN THEM?

There is very little chance of this happening because we take great care in the packaging of your eyeglasses to guarantee its safety. However, if you notice that your package arrives in really bad shape, contact us immediately and provide pictures of the package. We will work with you on sending you a return label and a replacement pair of glasses.

 

I RECEIVED THE INCORRECT FRAMES. HOW DO I RETURN THEM?

Refrain from using the eyeglasses and contact us immediately for a return authorization. We will work with you on sending you the correct pair of glasses. Rest assured that there is very little chance of this happening.

 


ABOUT HOME TRY ON

HOW DOES HOME TRY ON WORK?

You can select up to five pairs of frames for home your try-on set.  Add your frames to cart and complete the check out process.  You will receive your set by USPS or Fedex within a week- and can keep the set for up to 7 days.  Take photos and get measurements on frames before returning the box via a prepaid label inside the box. 

The fee for a home try-on set is $25, and the cost can be applied to the purchase of a pair of glasses within 30 days of your try-on.  There is no obligation to buy. 

IS THERE A HOME TRY ON FEE?

No.  We charge a $25 fee for every home try-on, and the cost can be applied to the purchase of a pair of glasses within 30 days of your try-on.  

HOW LONG CAN I KEEP THE TRY-ON SET?

You have 7 days beginning the day you receive your set to try them, take photos, ask your family and friends, and make your decision.  You can email us or tag us #seesawseeneye. We will be happy to help you pick out your favorite.
